“ Amazing evening! Service was impeccable. We lucked out by getting a seat at the bar overlooking the kitchen. We were so enthralled watching the kitchen work. The raw bar selection was incredible, so much attention to detail. The maitake with a side of garlic fudge is un-missable. The potato dumplings is the most elevated potato I've ever had. The deserts were so imaginative (we got three!) and a perfect end to our meal. 15/10 ”
“ 3.5/5 Delicious food in the cutest, cozy space in Clinton Hill! I would definitely come here for the cute vibes and great service. My favorites were the mains - we got the black bass and malfadine pasta. The frontage ice cream was also incredible and I wanted more. Everything else didn't really stand out to me and were a little too salty for my liking, so I found the dishes were really hit or miss. The sardine toast was salty (although expected), the mussels were quite sour and a little fishy, the potato dish sauce was delicious but the flour part had very little flavor and just felt like balls of dough. The bottle of red wine our waiter recommended was excellent and I enjoyed the vermut as well, which was a little sweeter. For the price, I expected a little more from the taste of the food, but I really enjoyed my time here due to the vibes and service! ”
“ Excellent wine. Great service. Delicious food. Everything we ordered was amazing. The sardine toast was the perfect mix of salty (the fish) and savory (the butter) and tart (the grapefruit kosho). The iberico pork collar and cavatelli were both rich and flavorful, and they complemented each other very well. The choux pastry dessert was not too sweet, with the seasonal grape compote and the creative soba cha cream. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. ”
“ The vibes here are immaculate!! My girl friends and I went for dinner on a Thursday night for a yap sesh, and we had the best time!! The food is sooooo yummy and with the vibe of the restaurant, makes this the perfect local spot. The service was also incredible, super friendly and gave amazing suggestions. If anyone is looking for a cozy date spot, or a spot for the girlies, this is the place. ”
“ Amazing meal, space, menu, team, loved it all. We sat at the bar, food came quickly once we figured out what we wanted to order and the team was great explaining everything to us. Would recommend anything on the menu as we didn't have a single weak dish. Dessert was also fantastic. I'll be thinking about the fried mushrooms for a long while. ”
“ A friend and I made a stop here on a weeknight for a drink. This cute wine bar has a cozy, yet clean feel. We got a bar seat in the back where we were able to watch them slice up some salami, which was fun. For drinks, I had the Nectarine Sling ($17). This was light and refreshing with the sweetness from the nectarine. It's a tad pricey for a simple cocktail, but was delicious. Since we just had dinner, I decided to opt for the Choux Craqulin ($15) for dessert. It's a nice sized choux filled with a blueberry compote in the middle. The flavors were well balanced and not too sweet, so I enjoyed this. Despite that, it's quite expensive for a dessert item though. ”
“ Thank you to the team who accommodated our walk in. They gave us a couple options for seating - all worked great. The service is top notch all around. Excellent cocktails and unique wine list. The menu has a nice mix of flavors and options. The fluke crudo was light yet super herby and bright. The mortadella was super delicate and complement to the creamy Brie. The standout was the lamb booming with flavor alongside the spiced green harissa and a whole wheat pita so perfectly warmed. Loved it all around! Would definitely venture back to try many more items. Such an easy vibe here too. ”
“ The Fish is quite a surprise (don't remember the name...it's an around $70ish dish in the last section of the menu). Very tender, and more importantly for a person who is super sensitive about the fishy taste, no fishy smell was tasted at all. The vegetables dish was the special of the day and it is like pickled vegetables. Especially love the ham and the crispy mushroom! The mushroom is very crispy while the mushroom inside remains juicy. A very wonderful taste (it is like you are having some delicious meat but it's actually mushroom). All dishes go well with the sourdough too! ”
“ Came for dinner with a friend and had a great meal here. Red wine on tap was tasty. As for the food, we shared: + Otway bread + Crispy maitake mushrooms with black garlic fudge + Lanzino (special) + Grilled caraflex cabbage + Bucatini with razor clams + Passionfruit custard tart + Chocolate choux Highlights were the mushrooms, bucatini and chocolate choux. Lanzino, cabbage and passionfruit tart were also great. Definitely will return for more bites and wine! ”
“ The last Place des Fêtes I went to was a quiet station on Metro Line 7bis, the Franklin Avenue shuttle equivalent of Paris, in the uncelebrated 19ème. This Place des Fêtes was far more welcoming and befitting of its celebratory name. From a vegetarian's standpoint, the destination dish here is the maitake mushroom with black garlic fudge, whose flavor is as elusive as its title. It pairs well with the sourdough, of which we consumed far too much. In the spirit of the upcoming fête of unleaveaned bread, we also tried the farinata, which came with a smoky mix of garbanzo and avocado and was a lovely light addition to the meal. ”
